Welcome to Troop 159's Website!

Scouting is for youth age 11 or at least 10 years old and completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, up to 18 years old. Scouts experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Camping, fun with friends – and more. It’s the adventure of a lifetime.

Give your son a valuable gift by encouraging him to join Scouting today. The time you invest in him today will make a difference in the person he becomes tomorrow.

Troop 159 is chartered by the American Legion Post 159. Our Troop meetings at the American Legion Hall on Highway 21 at 101 Waco Street. Meetings are Tuesday nights starting at 7:00 pm and typically end at 8:30 pm.

Our troop attends various summer camps in Texas, Colorado, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Each year we let the boys decide where to go. We also make bi-annual treks to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. We have sent crews to Northern Tier in Canada and scouts to Sea Base in Florida.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people

to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes

by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
